Bowdon HC is pleased to welcome Amanda Partington and Connor Jameson as the club’s newly appointed Operational Director and Assistant Director of Hockey.
Amanda returns to South Downs Road as Operational Director after 10 years away. She has been involved heavily in the world of hockey for over 25 years and has experience across all levels of the game. Coaching achievements include Two Commonwealth Games with Wales Senior Women, five seasons coaching Bowdon Men’s 1s, alongside national league promotions with Poynton, Loughborough University, and Alderley Edge.
Outside of Hockey, she has vast experience in performance, talent development and culture optimisation, working with NGBs and industry partners. In this newly created role, Amanda will oversee the enhancement of the structure, processes, and player development at the club, providing leadership and support for the coaching and volunteer teams.
Connor joins the club as Assistant Director of Hockey. Over the past eight years, he has gained various experiences in several hockey environments including, indoor hockey at DTV Hannover, grassroots hockey at Ascham School, Sydney, and national league club hockey with Sheffield HC. Following this, Connor had a successful spell at Southport Hockey Club working as Director of Hockey overseeing all coaching provision and club management, which led to two back-to-back England Hockey Club of the Year Nominations.
Connor will be the club coaching lead and will also take on a broader managerial role for hockey delivery, working alongside the coaching and volunteer teams to provide a consistent and fulfilling hockey experience for all members.
Together, Amanda and Connor will work with a strategic group to help drive hockey excellence throughout the club, developing leadership, culture, player development and coaching environments.
