You can find out more about the competition here which starts on Sunday 20th October for both competitions and dates are on the right of this page, although we will not get the fixture details until the last week of September.
Managers and coaches will organise training when player commitment is known and selection will be led by Connor Jameson based around the Bowdon selection principles.

We have entered Tier 1 for both Boys and girls in the U16 ‘Supraleague’ – which is a combined Cup and NW league competition, as well as a Tier 2 Girls team into the EH Cup (but not the NW leagues).
Team managers: U16 Girls – Jude Hughes / Alexis Kent / U16 Boys – Kath Small
Training is on Friday evenings 6.30 – 8pm, further details and dates are on the Talent Centre page.

Tier 1 Supraleague:
As a Talent Centre with some high performing players, England Hockey guidance is that we should enter at this level. Therefore to help prepare our squads, we ask players to commit regularly to Friday training, as well as Sunday matches, which are listed on the left.

Tier 2 Girls EH Cup:
Dates for the Tier 2 competition are:

We have entered U14 Boys and Girls teams into Tier 1 into the North West Junior leagues which compete on Sunday afternoons approximately one in every three weeks; we hope to have fixture dates soon.

In addition, we have entered the England Hockey Cup with two boys teams in Tier 1 and 2 and one girls team into Tier 1. These are also on Sunday afternoons and dates for these EH Cup fixtures can be seen on the right; slip dates are in brackets.

These involve squads of 14 players with selection led by Connor Jameson working alongside performance and volunteer coaches based around the Bowdon selection principles. Core squad players are asked to commit regularly to Friday age group training which is held fortnightly 6.30 – 8pm at the main club pitch. Players who are not selected for the U14 squads will be offered games in the U14 mixed team in the Greater Manchester Junior Hockey league (GMJHL). More information on training is here.
Team managers: U14 Boys – Dave Dennison / U14 Girls – Genevieve Maguire / Mike Bradbury

All players have an opportunity to play on Saturdays but can’t be guaranteed to be playing with their peer/year groups. Year 9 girls tend to move into adult league squads with boys staying in Junior friendly squads a little longer. They gradually transition when ready and space is available.

All others in years 7 – 9 take part in friendly games as part of the ‘North West Consortium’. These are friendly development fixtures against other clubs and while generally for players in years 7-9, some year 6 or year 10s may also be part of the squads if appropriate.

We have four teams this year: one in the U15s age group (‘Badgers’ league) and three in the U13 age group (‘Beavers’ league). These matches are 11 a side full pitch and usually involve mixed teams. Players are distributed across squads and we have over 80 players to accomodate so we give careful consideration to ability, confidence, commitment, peer group, gender balance as well as age. We rely on parent volunteers to coach, manage and umpire games so help is always welcome to enable games to happen. Matches are usually between 12.30 – 4.30pm home and away across Greater Manchester and Cheshire.

Fixtures start on 21st September with a gap for half term 25th October to 4th November. The last game will be on 14th December. In 2025, games will start on 11th January, with a half term gap from 21st February to 3rd March and will end on 5th April.

We enter teams for U8, U10, U12 and U14 into the GMJHL each year which is held at the Manchester University Armitage Centre. The aim of these is to enjoy playing semi-competitively and build experience. They are all split into boys and girls except the U14 competition which is mixed. Dates are listed below and are generally 1 – 3pm or 3 – 5pm. Lead co-ordinator for this is James McCann.
