Bowdon is a friendly, family-focused sports club based near the Cheshire border in South Manchester offering hockey, squash, cricket and racquetball. We have a well-established heritage as a leading hockey club in the North West and are proud to be connected to many players representing England, Wales and GB. We have England Hockey ClubMark accreditation and are an established junior Talent Centre.
We have a brand new water-based home pitch adjacent to our pavilion club house, laid in summer 2026. We also have use of three sand-based pitches at Altrincham Boys’ Grammar School and Altrincham Girls Grammar School, both of which are less than a ten minute walk away.
We have eight Men’s and eight Women’s teams as well as Junior teams across all age groups, with our top teams playing at the highest national levels. With around 400 Junior members and strong connections with local schools, we provide access to hockey for all ages and abilities across our local community. We proudly offer a welcoming family focus and always keen to build hockey connections with other organisations both locally and nationally.
