A massive thank you to everyone at Bowdon who made a greatly anticipated day on Saturday into a really enjoyable and wonderful occasion.
It was very special to see the entire ‘Bowdon family’ out in force, with players and volunteers of all ages playing an active part in the day. All our visitors were extremely impressed by our Club; England Hockey said they were “blown away” by their welcome and the atmosphere we all contribute towards. Roger Johnson from BBC, whose son played for Bowdon prior to going to university, is a good friend and supporter of Bowdon Hockey and hosted the event where we revealed the Board with the names of those who donated to the new pitch. We were even featured on North West Tonight with Roger.
We raised around £4,000 for the Club, the Hockey section and charities, as well as ensuring the bar was “well used” (a record may have been broken)!
Thank you so much for your support, and we look forward to seeing you at Bowdon for what will be a tremendous season.
Yours,
Jonny Grant, Hockey Chair,
The Hockey Committee and Event Team.
