Bowdon welcomes another England junior international!

Our second summer signing who goes straight in to pre season training is 20 year old Matthew Steventon.

Matthew started his hockey at Deeside Ramblers then moved to Repton school, under the guidance of ex Bowdon player Martin Jones. Matthew represented England at U16 and U18 level and joined Beeston when he started his Civil Engineering degree at Nottingham Trent.

‘Matt is a young player who already has a strong hockey CV. After we played Deeside last year, Matt impressed us greatly and once we found out he was going to be doing a year in industry in Manchester, we put all our efforts into signing him.

We are delighted to have Matt onboard as we focus our efforts on trying to win promotion.

He has committed to the pre-season programme excellently and we hope the form we have seen so far continues into the season and he becomes a pivotal member of the squad.’ Said Bowdon Manager, Adam Horan.
